365 Days to the Wedding

Takuya and Rika are contentedly introverted employees at a travel agency in Tokyo, each perfectly comfortable with their quiet, single lives. Despite working for the same company, the two colleagues have barely exchanged words over the course of their employment. However, their peaceful routines are suddenly threatened when management announces plans to open a new branch in Alaska the following year. To staff this remote location, the company intends to specifically recruit unmarried employees, putting both Takuya and Rika directly in line for an unwanted overseas transfer. Desperate to avoid being relocated so far from home, the two coworkers devise an unconventional solution: they will pretend to be engaged. Although they share almost no personal history or prior connection, they agree to stage a convincing romance to protect themselves from the impending move. As they attempt to maintain this elaborate charade, the challenge becomes whether two reserved individuals who scarcely know each other can successfully portray a devoted couple under the watchful eyes of their colleagues.
