700 Gram no Gogo

A young woman known only as the cactus girl has recently begun navigating the unfamiliar territory of independent living. Having just moved into her own space, she finds herself alone in a quiet room where the boundaries of consciousness begin to blur. As she drifts off into sleep, she enters a strange, liminal landscape—a place that defies simple categorization, feeling neither entirely real nor completely imagined. In this ambiguous dreamscape, she wanders without clear direction, suspended between waking life and the depths of slumber. The solitude of her new apartment serves as the threshold for an internal journey, one where the physical world she has just claimed as her own dissolves into something far more elusive and uncertain. Her experience captures the delicate, disorienting transition of stepping into adulthood while untethered from familiar surroundings. 700 Gram no Gogo is a first-year graduate project completed in 2024 at the Tokyo University of the Arts, produced within the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation.
