Noboru Kotera-san

Noboru Kotera-san is a lighthearted slice-of-life comedy centered around the everyday experiences of its titular protagonist, Kotera. As a high school girl navigating her daily routine, she carries herself with an air of effortless composure and unfailing politeness. To her classmates and those around her, she appears to be the picture of a refined, cool-headed student who never lets anything rattle her calm exterior. However, beneath this impeccably maintained facade lies a passionate obsession that defines her true character: bouldering. Kotera is deeply devoted to the sport of rock climbing, and her enthusiasm for scaling walls frequently contrasts with her otherwise dignified public image. The series thrives on this charming juxtaposition, exploring how her intense dedication to climbing seamlessly intersects with her ordinary high school life. Rather than focusing on dramatic conflicts or intense rivalries, the narrative embraces a gentle, comedic tone as it chronicles Kotera’s day-to-day adventures. Her unwavering love for bouldering constantly threatens to break through her polite demeanor, resulting in humorous situations that highlight the endearing gap between her composed personality and her athletic fixation. Through these everyday moments, the story offers a delightful look at a young woman whose greatest passion is always just beneath the surface.
