Humanity once shattered a long-standing treaty by launching an unprovoked war against the demon realm, but their aggression ultimately led to their own ruin. The ensuing conflict ended in a devastating defeat for mankind, leaving their civilization entirely in ruins. In the aftermath of this catastrophic war, demons emerged as the undisputed ruling species of the world. Presiding over this new era from the absolute pinnacle of power is the Demon Queen, the supreme sovereign who stands above all others in a conquered world. Yet, despite her unmatched authority and the total victory of her people, the Demon Queen finds no joy in her reign. A profound sense of weariness has settled over her, rendering her listless and entirely detached from the empire she commands. Adding further complexity to her existence, she has unexpectedly fallen in love with a human—a member of the very species her kind subjugated. Burdened by endless apathy and the weight of her crown, the supreme ruler harbors only a single, desperate wish: she wants nothing more than to die.
