Madness Mountains: Naked Peak - Pilot Film

This pilot film serves as the introductory presentation for a crowdfunded anime project rooted in the acclaimed tabletop role-playing game scenario "Kyouki Sanmyaku: Jashin no Sanrei" (Madness Mountains: The Mountain Ridge of the Evil God). The production aims to bring this unique narrative to life through animation, offering audiences a first look at the ambitious adaptation funded directly by its dedicated fanbase. The underlying source material masterfully intertwines two distinct themes: the harrowing physical endurance required for extreme mountain climbing and the creeping cosmic dread of the Cthulhu Mythos. As climbers attempt to scale treacherous, unforgiving peaks, they are gradually drawn into a nightmare where ancient, otherworldly horrors lurk beneath the ice and stone. The fusion of survival mountaineering with eldritch terror creates a uniquely tense atmosphere, challenging both the bodies and the sanity of those who dare to ascend. By translating this tabletop experience into an animated format, the pilot film establishes the chilling tone and visual direction of the broader project. It introduces viewers to a world where the pursuit of summiting the highest, most dangerous mountains collides with forbidden knowledge and unimaginable entities, setting the stage for a thrilling descent into madness.
