HIDARI

Set during Japan’s Edo period, HIDARI follows the legend of Jingoro, a master craftsman whose historical existence remains unverified despite numerous sculptures attributed to him scattered across the country. After a devastating betrayal by his senior apprentices costs him both his foster parent and his right arm, Jingoro is driven into a relentless quest for vengeance. Fitted with a mechanical prosthetic arm and accompanied by his loyal companion known as “Sleeping Cat,” he traverses a dangerous path fueled by grief and retribution. Because he lost the use of his dominant hand, Jingoro mastered the artful manipulation of his carpentry tools using only his left arm—a remarkable skill that earned him the moniker “Hidari,” the Japanese word for “left.” His journey ultimately leads him face-to-face with one of his chief adversaries, a formidable opponent named Inumaru. As their long-awaited confrontation begins, the stage is set for a brutal fight to the death, transforming a tale of traditional craftsmanship into a dark saga of survival and revenge.
