Based on Cixin Liu’s 2015 Hugo Award-winning novel, the story begins in 1967 during China's Cultural Revolution, when a young woman named Ye Wenjie watches helplessly as Red Guards beat her father to death. This devastating trauma irrevocably alters the course of her life and sets into motion events that will ultimately determine the fate of all humanity. Forty years later, Beijing law enforcement recruits nanotechnology engineer Wang Miao for an undercover mission. Following a disturbing wave of unexplained suicides among leading researchers, he is tasked with infiltrating a clandestine network of scientists. His inquiry draws him into a cryptic online game set within a virtual world governed by three suns whose chaotic, unpredictable gravitational interactions dictate the survival of its civilization. This phenomenon, known as the Three-Body Problem, serves as the linchpin connecting every mystery Wang encounters. It holds the answer behind the researchers' deaths, unravels a conspiracy stretching across light-years, and reveals an extinction-level threat now looming over the human race.
