Every Time I Learn a Color, the World Expands

"Every Time I Learn a Color, the World Expands" is an original net animation consisting of two short episodes directed by Ayako Kurata. The project was born from a unique creative collaboration between the Shikisai Kentei Kyoukai, a Japanese color proficiency testing organization, the acclaimed animation studio CloverWorks, and manga artist Tsubasa Yamaguchi. Together, they crafted a brief but visually thoughtful series that explores how an understanding of color can profoundly shape one's perspective on life and career. The series is divided into two distinct chapters, each released in August 2022. The first episode, subtitled "Job Hunting Arc," follows a narrative centered around the challenges and self-discovery involved in seeking employment. The second episode, titled "My Work Arc," shifts focus to the personal relationship individuals have with their chosen professions. Through these interconnected shorts, the production highlights the subtle yet powerful ways in which learning to perceive and appreciate color broadens one's worldview, reflecting the core mission of its collaborative partners.
