Prima Doll

The Kuronekotei café operates with a highly unconventional staff. Rather than ordinary human workers, the establishment is run entirely by automata—autonomous mechanical dolls who greet every patron with warmth and grace. Despite their current dedication to hospitality, these remarkable beings were never originally designed for domestic life or peaceful service. Only a few years earlier, the world was engulfed in a devastating great war, during which automata functioned strictly as weapons of conflict. They fulfilled the violent, bloody purposes for which they had been engineered, serving on battlefields rather than behind counters. Now that the hostilities have finally ceased, these machines find themselves in an unfamiliar era defined by tranquility rather than destruction. Though built from metal and mechanics, each automaton possesses a profoundly human heart. Stripped of their wartime directives, they face a deeply personal dilemma: discovering where they truly belong in a society that no longer requires them to fight. Their search for identity, purpose, and acceptance begins within the welcoming walls of the Kuronekotei café, where former instruments of war learn to embrace a gentle new existence.
