Soundback: Kanade no Ishi

"Soundback: Kanade no Ishi" marks the directorial debut of Hitomi, presenting a distinctive and imaginative narrative centered on the power of music. The story unfolds in an idyllic country town, a peaceful rural haven where life has long remained quiet and undisturbed. However, this tranquility is abruptly shattered when a sudden invasion of hostile robots descends upon the community, threatening to destroy everything the residents hold dear. Faced with this overwhelming mechanical menace, the protagonist, Towako, refuses to let her home fall into ruin. Alongside her loyal friends, she takes up an unconventional but vital fight to defend their town and restore its lost peace. Rather than relying on traditional weapons or brute force, Towako and her companions discover that their greatest defense lies in sound itself. By playing music and harnessing the resonance of audio, they confront the invading machines head-on. Their struggle transforms into a remarkable battle where melody and harmony become the ultimate tools for survival, as the group fights desperately to protect their beloved hometown from total destruction.
