RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM Part 1: Your Train Is the Survival Tactic serves as the opening installment of a two-part film series that reimagines the Mawaru Penguindrum anime with newly integrated elements. At its core, the story poses a haunting question: how far would you go to protect someone you love? For brothers Shoma and Kanba, this dilemma becomes an immediate reality when their terminally ill sister, Himari, suddenly collapses during a visit to an aquarium. Just as she appears to die, a mysterious penguin hat she had longed for miraculously restores her to life. This supernatural revival comes at a steep cost. To keep Himari alive, the brothers are thrust into an impossible quest to locate an enigmatic artifact known as the Penguindrum. Driven by unwavering devotion, they resolve to do absolutely anything necessary to save their sister. As Shoma and Kanba pursue diverging paths in their search, they are forced to decipher intricate riddles and forge uneasy alliances with untrustworthy strangers. Ultimately, their desperate mission compels them to challenge the very foundations of time and destiny itself.
