Salaryman's Club

The story follows Mikoto Shiratori, a man whose life was once defined by his extraordinary talent on the badminton court. Recognized as a childhood prodigy, he possessed a natural brilliance for the sport that set him apart from his peers and promised a future of competitive greatness. However, his trajectory was permanently altered by a devastating defeat during a crucial high school tournament. The psychological weight of that major loss proved insurmountable, leaving him unable to fully recover his former confidence or reclaim the elite status he once held. In the aftermath of his shattered athletic ambitions, Mikoto has transitioned into the corporate world, seeking stability far removed from the pressures of professional competition. He currently works within the sales department of Sunlight Beverage, navigating the daily demands of office life and commerce. Yet, his deep-rooted passion for the sport refuses to fade entirely. Rather than abandoning badminton altogether, he continues to play on the side, balancing his responsibilities as a company employee with his enduring, complicated relationship to the game that once defined him.
