The Orbital Children

Set in the year 2045, The Orbital Children unfolds in an era where advanced artificial intelligence and ubiquitous internet connectivity have extended far beyond Earth, becoming standard infrastructure even in the depths of space. The story centers on a group of children who find themselves suddenly stranded aboard a space station after a catastrophic, large-scale accident disrupts their environment. Cut off from immediate rescue and facing life-threatening danger, the young survivors must rely entirely on their own resourcefulness to stay alive. To navigate the escalating emergencies around them, the children leverage the limited technology at their disposal. They utilize narrowband communication networks and social media platforms to gather information and coordinate their efforts. More crucially, they commandeer a drone using nothing more than their smartphones and low-intelligence AI systems. Through ingenuity and teamwork, this small group transforms everyday digital tools into vital survival equipment, overcoming a relentless series of crises as they fight to endure the perils of their isolated orbital predicament.
