Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning

In a world where humanity's capacity for cruelty surpasses its fear of death, a young boy, Shinta, witnesses the murder of his enslavers under a full moon. He is subsequently renamed Kenshin Himura by the man who rescues him, and is destined to become a legendary swordsman. However, Kenshin's soft heart and strong desire to protect the innocent seem to be at odds with the occupation. This story follows the development of Kenshin, who will later be known as Hitokiri Battousai, before he swore his oath not to kill and earned his notorious reputation as an assassin. As the fate of a nation hangs in the balance, Kenshin's divided heart struggles between justice and corruption.
