Stained Smell

Stained Smell is an animated film that explores the profound and lingering sensation of being left behind. Rooted deeply in personal experience, the work examines the emotional landscape of childhood, capturing the quiet isolation that emerges when a young person's inner world stands in stark contrast to their external environment. The narrative draws from the realities of the creator's early years, reflecting on the dissonance between what was happening outwardly and what was truly felt within. Rather than presenting a conventional plot, the animation serves as a visceral expression of memory and emotion. It delves into the disconnect between the objective circumstances of youth and the subjective weight of those experiences, illustrating how unspoken feelings can shape one's sense of belonging. Through its visual storytelling, the film articulates the silent struggle of navigating a reality that fails to align with one's deepest emotions, offering a poignant meditation on the lasting impact of feeling unseen during one's formative years.
