Hakuoki ~Demon of the Fleeting Blossom~

Chizuru Yukimura travels to Kyoto in search of her missing father and finds herself working alongside the Shinsengumi after they rescue her from a bloodthirsty monster. By June of the first year of Keio, the Shinsengumi relocates to Nishi Honganji Temple to maintain their patrols across the city. They soon receive troubling reports of bandits falsely claiming to be members of their ranks. Simultaneously, the group is tasked with protecting Shogun Iemochi during his upcoming visit to Kyoto, forcing Hijikata and his comrades to urgently investigate these imposters while preparing for their new duty. Complicating matters further, several rasetsu escape from the Shinsengumi compound with the aid of a mysterious figure resembling Chizuru. Shortly after, Chizuru disappears when she is drawn into a violent conflict while traveling through the city with Sakai, the group's treasurer. Meanwhile, the Satsuma domain learns of an assassination plot against the Shogun orchestrated by ronin from Tosa, prompting Kazama and his allies to head toward Kyoto. As chaos mounts and the Shogun's arrival draws near, Hijikata and the Shinsengumi must determine whether these converging incidents are mere coincidence or part of a larger conspiracy, forcing them to make critical decisions for their future.
