Hakobune wa Palestine o Hatsu

As the twelfth century draws to a close, the Kingdom of Jerusalem teeters on the edge of collapse. Locked in a fragile and volatile stalemate with advancing Muslim forces, the Crusader state is consumed by political tension and the ever-present threat of war. Within this precarious landscape, Conrad I—the man widely anticipated to ascend the throne as the next king—meets a sudden and violent end. His assassination sends shockwaves through an already fractured realm, altering the course of history in the Holy Land. This historical manga meticulously chronicles the events leading up to that infamous murder, offering a perspective rarely explored in fiction. Rather than following the knights or nobles of the Crusader states, the narrative unfolds entirely through the eyes of two operatives belonging to the Nizari Ismaili sect, the secretive brotherhood famously known throughout history as the Order of Assassins. Tasked with navigating a treacherous web of religious conflict and political intrigue, these two figures move through the shadows of a divided world. Their mission brings them into direct contact with the highest echelons of power, transforming a distant geopolitical struggle into a deeply personal and deadly undertaking.
