His path takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Yuma Kuga, a Neighbor possessing extraordinary abilities. Rather than treating him as an enemy, Osamu forms an unlikely alliance with Yuma. Together with Osamu’s childhood friend Chika Ametori, the three unite to establish the newly formed Mikumo Squad. Their partnership bridges the divide between human and Neighbor, creating a uniquely capable team bound by mutual trust and shared purpose. The squad now faces a grueling internal challenge: they must compete fiercely in Border’s official ranking wars against fellow agents. Victory in these intense tactical battles is not merely about prestige.
