Skate-Leading Stars

Kensei Maeshima once possessed a promising future in competitive figure skating, but his ambitions were shattered when his greatest rival delivered a crushing declaration: “You’ll never beat me.” Devastated by those words, Kensei walked away from the ice entirely. In the years that followed, he channeled his remarkable athleticism into supporting various high school sports teams, drifting from one program to another without ever committing his talents to a single squad. His carefully detached existence is upended when his former adversary makes a surprising public announcement, revealing a transition from solo competition to a team-based sport. This unexpected shift catches the attention of a young student who is deeply familiar with Kensei’s history on the ice. Recognizing an opportunity, the student approaches Kensei with a compelling invitation to lace up his skates once more and step into the dynamic, collaborative world of skate-leading. Faced with the prospect of confronting his past and redefining his relationship with the sport he abandoned, Kensei must decide whether to remain on the sidelines or finally commit to a team of his own.
