The mark of Emi

A young student finds her daily routine unexpectedly disrupted when her friend Emi suddenly appears in one of her dreams. The vision is so vivid and startling that it leaves the protagonist deeply unsettled, creating an awkward sense of embarrassment that lingers long after she wakes up. Overwhelmed by the lingering effects of the dream, she discovers that she cannot even bring herself to look Emi in the eye or interact with her normally once they arrive at school later that morning. Hoping to simply avoid her friend for the rest of the day, the protagonist assumes she can keep her distance until classes are over. However, she completely forgets about a scheduled physical education session that requires all students to visit the swimming pool that afternoon. With no time to prepare and no way to escape the situation, she is forced into an uncomfortable position where she must ask Emi for a significant favor. Ultimately, she ends up having to borrow Emi's swimsuit, transforming her quiet attempt at avoidance into an unavoidable and intimate encounter. This short film serves as the 2019 graduation project of Momoka Furukawahara, produced during her studies at Tokyo Zokei University.
