Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku

Set within the familiar universe of Lucky Star, Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku serves as a comedic side story that shifts the spotlight to the everyday struggles of the Miyakawa household. The narrative centers on two sisters whose lives are defined by a stark contrast in priorities. The younger sister constantly battles the pangs of hunger, while her older sister is deeply entrenched in otaku culture, dedicating every waking thought to her extensive hobbies. The central conflict arises from the older sibling's relentless compulsion to purchase doujinshi. Her unchecked spending habits drain the family's finances entirely, leaving their household perpetually devoid of money. As a direct consequence of this one-sided devotion to fandom merchandise, the younger sister is forced to endure an ongoing state of starvation, unable to secure even basic meals. Through this premise, the manga explores the humorous yet pitiable dynamic between the two siblings. The older sister remains blissfully absorbed in her collection, seemingly oblivious to the domestic crisis she creates, while the younger sister must navigate the harsh reality of growing up in a home where self-published comics always take precedence over dinner. Their impoverished daily life unfolds as a lighthearted but relatable tale of familial imbalance and financial ruin driven by passionate fandom.
