Meshibana Deka Tachibana

Detective Tachibana possesses an extraordinary and encyclopedic knowledge of food, ranging from specific regional curries and ramen varieties to the finest details of fried chicken and soba noodles. His relentless passion for culinary topics and his tendency to discuss them at great length have earned him the distinctive nickname "Meshibana" among his colleagues. Whether he is analyzing the subtle differences between restaurant recipes or recounting elaborate stories about memorable meals, Tachibana's mind is always focused on gastronomy. This unusual obsession proves to be far more than a simple hobby; it serves as a remarkably effective interrogation technique. When faced with uncooperative suspects who refuse to speak, Tachibana bypasses traditional questioning methods entirely. Instead, he engages them in deep, passionate conversations about specific dishes or local eateries. This disarming approach consistently breaks down their defenses, coaxing information out of even the most stubborn individuals simply through the power of shared culinary enthusiasm. However, Tachibana's constant chatter about food creates a complex dynamic within his workplace. While his engaging stories can easily win over new friends and endear him to certain coworkers, his single-minded focus occasionally rubs others the wrong way. Regardless of whether his listeners are charmed or irritated, one universal truth remains: anyone who spends enough time conversing with Detective Tachibana inevitably walks away feeling incredibly hungry.
