The Millionaire Detective - Balance: UNLIMITED

Adapted from Yasutaka Tsutsui's novel Fugou Keiji, the series follows Daisuke Kambe, the heir to one of Japan's most affluent families. Assigned as a detective within the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Modern Crime Prevention Task Force, Kambe approaches his duties with an unconventional methodology. Leveraging his seemingly limitless family fortune, he spares no expense when investigating complex criminal cases. His worldview is defined by a cold pragmatism, as he routinely evaluates every situation—and even human lives—strictly through the lens of their monetary value. To balance his extreme approach, the department pairs Kambe with Haru Katou, a deeply compassionate detective who firmly believes that money cannot solve everything. Katou is immediately repulsed by his new partner's materialistic mindset and disregard for conventional police work. Despite their diametrically opposed personalities and conflicting moral compasses, the two are forced into a reluctant partnership. Together, they must navigate their intense ideological clashes while combining their unique strengths to unravel seemingly impossible mysteries and bring criminals to justice.
