Our house / Notre maison

In the film Our house / Notre maison, Alice embarks on a solitary journey, moving forward with an instinctive drive that seems to guide her every step. Without hesitation or companionship, she allows her own momentum to lead her as she pushes open door after door. Each threshold she crosses reveals a different dwelling, and within these varied spaces, she encounters the lives and homes of numerous individuals. Her path is not one of conventional exploration but rather an intuitive passage through a series of intimate, unfamiliar environments belonging to strangers. Through this quiet yet evocative progression, the work transcends a simple narrative of physical travel. It becomes a profound visual meditation on the landscape of human connection and the enduring figure of love. By weaving together a diverse tapestry of imagery and recurring motifs, the film articulates a deep emotional resonance—the kind of affection and longing cherished from the very bottom of our hearts. Alice’s solitary walk through these disparate houses ultimately serves as a poetic reflection on the universal desire for intimacy, transforming each opened door into a window onto the complex, heartfelt nature of love itself.
