Summary

Official Details

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Division operates with a precise structure of forty-nine officers divided evenly into seven squads. However, an unconventional eighth squad exists, consisting of only a single member: the enigmatic 8 Man. Beneath this solitary designation lies a remarkable secret. 8 Man is not an ordinary officer but a highly advanced robot who has assumed the identity of Azuma, a dedicated detective serving within the Metropolitan Police. Endowed with extraordinary capabilities, including superhuman speed and the power to alter his physical appearance at will, he operates far beyond the limits of any human law enforcement agent. This astonishing truth is guarded fiercely, known only to a strictly limited circle of individuals. Even Ichiro and Sachiko, two younger companions who work closely alongside Azuma, remain entirely unaware that their trusted colleague is actually a mechanical being. Operating under this veil of secrecy, Azuma navigates a complex double life. He confronts a relentless array of scoundrels and dangerous criminals arriving from across the globe, bringing them to justice both through his official duties as a police detective and through his hidden, formidable persona as the robotic hero 8 Man.
