Eleanor, the daughter of a king and a gifted opera singer, is thrust into a life of exile after a devastating scandal. When assassins are dispatched to eliminate them, her mother sacrifices herself but not before extracting a solemn promise from Eleanor to flee the country forever. Left alone, she struggles to survive on the unforgiving streets, sustaining herself by singing the melodies her mother taught her. Her fortunes shift when she befriends Johan, an accordion player, and the two travel together performing for whatever audiences they can find. The danger, however, never truly fades. The queen orders another assassination attempt that tragically claims the life of an innocent girl at Eleanor’s nursing home by mistake. Forced to move once more, Eleanor joins a band of traveling gypsies, where her extraordinary voice catches the attention of Alex Lee, a renowned manager. Under his guidance, she makes her professional debut under the stage name Odette Lauryn. She rapidly ascends to global stardom as a celebrated singer, a triumph that ultimately brings her back to her hometown to perform directly before the very king who is her father.
