Sky Girls

In the near future, Earth is thrust into a devastating conflict against an extraterrestrial menace known as the Worms. This brutal war leaves humanity severely diminished, with young men suffering the heaviest casualties in the prolonged struggle for survival. Although mankind ultimately manages to drive the alien invaders back and secure a fragile peace, the catastrophic toll on the global population reshapes society entirely. The hard-won respite proves temporary when the Worms unexpectedly re-emerge, threatening to finish what they started. With conventional military forces depleted and traditional defense strategies no longer viable, humanity is forced to adapt. To counter this renewed existential threat, a specialized mecha unit known as the Sonic Divers is established. Because of the severe shortage of male soldiers, the fate of the world rests upon the shoulders of three young girls. Selected to pilot these advanced combat machines, they must master their formidable aircraft and stand as Earth's final line of defense against an enemy that refuses to stay defeated.
