Within the National Police Agency exists a highly classified division known as the Special Cases Unit, an elite task force dedicated exclusively to investigating inexplicable supernatural incidents that defy conventional law enforcement. When bizarre and unexplainable phenomena threaten public safety, this specialized department steps in to handle threats that ordinary detectives are neither trained nor equipped to face. It is a world where the boundaries of reality blur, demanding investigators who can navigate the terrifying unknown. Rookie investigator Yoshito Naruse has just been assigned to his first major case within this secretive unit, thrusting him into a dangerous landscape far beyond his prior experience. To guide him through the complexities of the paranormal, he is paired with Kyubi Tenzen, a formidable figure widely recognized by the nickname "Fox Hunter." As one of the most powerful civilian psychics operating anywhere in the country, Tenzen possesses extraordinary abilities that make him an invaluable asset to the agency. Together, the inexperienced but determined Naruse and the veteran psychic must bridge their differences in expertise to unravel a baffling new mystery. Their partnership forms the critical foundation of an investigation where failure could mean succumbing to forces entirely beyond human comprehension.
