Manga Grimm Douwa: Midarana Junai-hen

Manga Grimm Douwa: Midarana Junai-hen is an anthology collection that reimagines classic literary masterpieces, traditional folktales, and theatrical tragedies through a mature, sensual lens. This collection features dark and passionate adaptations of timeless works, including Alexandre Dumas's tragic romance "Camille (Tsubaki-hime)", William Shakespeare's familial and political drama "King Lear", the psychological and moral dilemmas of Ryunosuke Akutagawa's "Rashomon", and the folklore vengeance found in "The Tongue-Cut Sparrow (Shitakiri Suzume)". Further expanding the anthology, the volume includes the ghostly and ill-fated romance from Sanyutei Encho's classic ghost story "Botan Dourou" (The Peony Lantern), alongside the mythical trials of passion and devotion from the classical Greco-Roman tale "Eros and Psyche". Each distinct story is brought to life by different manga artists, blending deep emotional turmoil, dramatic conflicts, and intimate encounters to explore the darker, more passionate dimensions of human desire within these classic narratives.
