Fish and Water

Akira, a business sales administrator, and Koji, a freelance writer, first cross paths at a mutual friend’s wedding and quickly form a close bond. Their friendship takes an unexpected turn when Akira visits a farming client and is gifted a full case of freshly harvested cabbage. Unable to find any takers among his coworkers and lacking culinary skills himself, Akira reaches out to Koji, who has a genuine passion for cooking. Living alone during the isolating stretch of pandemic-related shutdowns, Akira seizes the surplus vegetables as a convenient excuse to spend time at Koji’s home. After navigating the initial awkwardness of maintaining proper health precautions, the two men settle into a comfortable domestic rhythm together. What begins as a simple exchange of produce soon evolves into something far more complex, leaving both of them emotionally adrift. As they share quiet moments in Koji's kitchen, the boundaries of their relationship begin to blur, forcing Akira and Koji to confront a deeply confusing question: are they truly just friends, or have they become something much more?
