Kujira no Chouyaku

Time has come to a halt. From a sea as smooth as glass, a whale rises and spends half a day gliding elegantly through the sky. What sets this work apart is the artist’s bold choice to reserve the transparency and volumetric density of 3D computer graphics solely for the motionless ocean and glaciers. The figures, the whale, and the vessels are all rendered by hand, and through this deliberate contrast, he draws the audience into an otherworldly realm. It is a poem composed in animation—the embodiment of pure fantasy. The project was a monumental endeavor, and the results are nothing short of stunning.
