8 Man After

Following the mysterious disappearance of the original 8 Man—a cybernetic superhero engineered by Professor Tani—the city falls prey to a wave of violent assaults carried out by drug-fueled street gangs. Hazuma, a former police officer now operating his own private investigation agency, is hired to locate a missing scientist suspected of absconding with advanced cybernetics from Professor Tani’s laboratory. The stolen hardware soon resurfaces, integrated into the bodies of renegade "cyber-junkies" as psycho-activated weaponry. While pursuing the case, Hazuma is brutally killed. In response, Dr. Tani repurposes Hazuma’s biological matrix as a template to create a successor for the absent 8 Man. To maintain a covert presence, this new 8 Man adopts Hazuma's detective identity as a front, yet he must constantly navigate the internal conflict between the jaded, cynical personality of the private eye and the detached, emotionless composure required of a super-android hero.
