Galaxy Express 999

After Count Mecha murders his mother and leaves him for dead, ten-year-old Tetsuro Hoshino is revived by a mysterious woman named Maetal. In exchange for nothing more than his companionship, she offers him a journey aboard the Galaxy Express 999. Legend holds that anyone who rides the celestial train to its final destination may receive a free mechanical body, granting them eternal life. With nothing left to lose, Tetsuro seizes the chance and joins Maetal on an odyssey that will carry them across the stars. As the Galaxy Express 999 travels through the solar system and far beyond, Tetsuro finds himself pulled ever deeper into a hazardous universe, where danger waits at every stop.
