In the present day, a young boy named Haruhiko Kanou leads a peaceful life, excelling in machine repair and harboring a secret crush on his kind-hearted science teacher, Yuki Fujiwara. Unbeknownst to him, he bears a striking resemblance to Fulcanelli, an ancient enchanter who possesses the extraordinary ability to imbue his creations with magical powers. After his untimely demise, Fulcanelli's soul is trapped within a pendant, guarded by his demonic companion Eukanaria, who strives to protect it from those who would misuse his immense power. As a result of a mysterious circumstance, Fulcanelli's spirit is in need of a new vessel, and Eukanaria sets out to find a suitable host, with Haruhiko inadvertently becoming the chosen candidate.
