Restoring cultural relics: Starting with the crying Tang Dynasty figurines

Su Yuan, a socially awkward cultural relic restorer, graduates and lands an obscure government position through his advisor's recommendation—a job so secretive it doesn't even exist in online search results. Expecting a quiet life with minimal work, he is instead greeted on his very first day by a weeping Tang Dynasty female figurine begging to return to Chang'an. Trembling, Su Yuan grips his restoration brush and pleads, "I'll fix you up, just please stop scaring me!" Word soon spreads throughout the entire supernatural division: the new restorer is incredibly skilled, but talks far too much. While his peers simply repair artifacts, Su Yuan finds that the relics themselves actively seek him out. His colleagues turn out to be reclusive masters, and the clients who approach him are often ancient spirits. The restroom plumbing gets clogged with unearthly objects, and shadows trapped inside bronze mirrors line up patiently, waiting for their turn to be restored.
