Houkago, Bokura wa Uchuu ni Madou

The Kinoshima Rocketry Club’s modest test-firing vlog was meant to be nothing more than a routine update for a handful of enthusiasts. But when their hybrid engine detonates mid-burn, the failure does more than shatter their long-held dreams of reaching the stars—it unexpectedly launches one of their own into an entirely different orbit. Featured briefly in the background of the ill-fated footage is Madoi Ayame, a quiet member of the engine section whose unassuming presence captivates viewers worldwide. Overnight, she becomes an internet sensation, her face dissected and adored by strangers across the globe, even as the club scrambles to salvage their ruined project. For Ayame, the sudden flood of international attention is more bewildering than flattering. She has no desire for mass admiration; her quiet heart already belongs to a single, specific person, one whose gaze she has always craved but never quite captured. While the world tells her she is extraordinary, she remains painfully aware that the only opinion that truly matters has yet to notice her at all. Trapped between the wreckage of the club’s ambitions and the relentless glare of online fame, Ayame must navigate a bittersweet reality: her face is known to millions, yet her feelings remain unseen by the one she wishes would see her most.
