The Rising of the Shield Hero

Naofumi Iwatani has always been an unremarkable young man, spending his days immersed in games and manga with little charisma to his name. That ordinary life comes to an abrupt end when he is suddenly summoned to a parallel universe, where he learns a staggering truth: he is one of four heroes entrusted with legendary weapons and charged with rescuing the world from the destruction foretold by prophecy. Yet his new beginning quickly turns sour. As the Shield Hero, the weakest among the four legendary warriors, Naofumi discovers that nothing in this world is quite what it appears. Before he can find his footing, he is betrayed and cast aside, stripped of his money and left utterly alone in an unfamiliar land. With no one to trust, nowhere to flee, and nothing to rely on but the shield on his arm, Naofumi faces an uphill battle like no other. To survive this treacherous world and avert its prophesied doom, he must rise from the depths of despair and fulfill his destiny as the legendary Shield Hero.
