Emerald Midnight's Lover

Nestled among the undulating hills of the French countryside, the estate of Viscount de Rougemerle stands as a verdant jewel in the fading crown of aristocratic splendor. The year is 1887, and the château basks in a deceptive peace, its manicured lawns and ancient stone walls whispering of a gentler era. This tranquil haven, however, is but a fragile veneer—one poised to fracture with the unexpected return of the viscount's prodigal son, Cameron. A wayward soul with a penchant for chaos, his arrival stirs old ghosts and threatens to unleash a scandal capable of rattling the very foundations of the stately home. Caught in the widening cracks of this impending disaster is Edgar O'Grady, an Irish butler whose unwavering service to the Rougemerle name is matched only by his fierce, protective devotion to those he cherishes. As Cameron's reckless charm reawakens dormant tensions and long-buried secrets, Edgar finds himself walking a treacherous line: preserving the household's decorum while shielding his childhood friend, June, from the fallout, and guarding the viscount's own daughter, Lady Victoria, from the machinations that swirl around her. Within the gilded corridors, every stolen glance carries unspoken weight, each murmured word holds a hidden dagger, and beneath the polished veneer of civility, the emerald-green glimmer of envy festers—a quiet poison that threatens to consume master and servant alike before the year draws to a close.
