Beyond the Dawn: The School Football Road

The Morning Light Middle School football team is the least noticed club on campus. Just twenty-three members remain—a silent goalkeeper, a lone-wolf striker, a talkative winger, a defensive midfielder with endless stamina, and one overweight kid who can barely run. Nobody expects them to win a single match. Nobody, that is, except themselves. Starting from the county qualifiers, they fight their way through twenty-four games over twelve grueling months, all the way to the national tournament. They are not born talents, nor are they even considered "promising prospects." But whenever they fall behind, someone rises to the occasion; whenever someone hits the ground, a hand reaches out to pull them back up. This is not the story of one player. It is the story of twenty-three. "We may not be the strongest individuals, but we are the best team."
