Emma Dreams of Stars

This culinary drama is the result of a collaboration between celebrated manga artist Kan Takahama, French writer Emmanuelle Maisonneuve, and Kodansha's Morning Magazine. Emma possesses a rare gift: an exceptional palate. Her finely tuned sense of taste enables her to secure a position as an inspector for the prestigious Michelin Guide, allowing her to pursue her dream of uncovering the closely guarded secrets of master chefs. Yet her journey is fraught with challenges. Sent across the length and breadth of France to evaluate hotels and restaurants, she endures excessive—and often mediocre—meals while navigating the pervasive sexism of the culinary world. Still, driven by her deep love for cooking and fierce independence, she embarks on a remarkable sensory and personal odyssey that ultimately leads her as far as Japan.
