Mizunoke – Suiiki Kaii Kitan Imayou

Mizunoke — spirits and monsters that surface at the water's edge — have largely been banished from the world, driven out by the advance of modern civilization. Yet in the town of Uroko, these enigmatic beings still endure, lingering along the boundary between land and water. Standing against them is Sayo, an employee of the Mizunoke Extermination Center, whose work places her on the front line between humanity and the unknown. Sayo's routine is shattered one day by the arrival of Kichi, a young girl who appears before her with the sudden force of a storm. Kichi claims to have a single purpose: to find her missing brother, who has vanished without a trace. But her story does not quite add up. Beneath the girl's desperate search, something more sinister seems to be at work — a hidden truth that threatens to pull Sayo far beyond her ordinary duties and into the heart of a mystery the likes of which Uroko has never seen.
