Hito no Kokoro ga Yomeru Kanojo no Hanashi

For as long as she can remember, Fukami Kokoro has possessed the ability to hear the thoughts of everyone around her. What should be an extraordinary gift has instead become a source of endless disillusionment. Time and again, she has watched people say one thing aloud while thinking another, and the ceaseless gulf between their polished facades and their hidden true feelings has worn her down until she can no longer bring herself to trust anyone at all. Then one day, Kokoro crosses paths with a man unlike anyone she has ever encountered — someone whose mind holds no schemes or secret intentions whatsoever. His thoughts and emotions pour out with startling, unfiltered honesty, and she finds herself tossed about by every blunt, unguarded notion that crosses his mind. For the first time in her life, Kokoro comes to know the quiet comfort of standing beside a person incapable of deceit — a peace born of knowing there is nothing to doubt. Wrapped in that newfound sense of security, she begins, little by little, to open her heart at last.
