Moon You

The end arrives not with a whimper, but with a cataclysmic asteroid that carves Earth from the cosmos—or so Moon You believes. Stranded alone aboard a sterile lunar research outpost, he awakens to a silence more suffocating than the vacuum beyond his window. Days bleed into an endless twilight as he grapples with the crushing weight of cosmic solitude, performing maintenance rituals and talking to dormant machinery, each passing hour a bitter reminder that he is the sole remnant of a species that once reached for the stars. Yet beneath the desolate surface of his reality, a profound irony unfolds. Miles below, on a planet he has already mourned, humanity persists—shaken but unbroken. From the rubble of their fractured world, they watch Moon You’s every stumble, every tear, every desperate attempt to find meaning in his routine. What he perceives as the ultimate isolation is, in truth, a live broadcast of survival, making him an unwitting beacon of hope for a civilization clinging to its last embers. Trapped between the role of a lonely castaway and that of an accidental hero, Moon You remains blissfully unaware that his solitary fight for sanity is the very thing keeping Earth’s watchers alive—even as the cruel secret of his unintended audience threatens to redefine everything he believes about being last.
