In the heat of their high school days, Hamura Yuzuki dealt a wound to Akishima Jin that no apology could easily mend—cutting words and reckless actions that have haunted him ever since. Though years have passed, the regret has only deepened, leaving Hamura with a single, fervent hope: that fate might grant him one more chance to stand before Jin and make things right. Now a college student and a decorated track-and-field athlete with national-level accolades from his junior and senior high school years, Hamura should be thriving. Instead, he remains a prisoner of the past. He devotes himself obsessively to pole-vaulting, often to the clear detriment of his team, driven not by ambition but by a single, lingering memory. It was Jin, his former teammate and the one person he cannot let go of, who once remarked offhandedly that the sky was their shared connection—a fleeting comment that has become Hamura's emotional anchor. Unable to move forward, his fixation strains his current relationship, poisoning his days and pushing his girlfriend to her limits. The growing rift between them becomes yet another source of turmoil, until a heated confrontation inadvertently shatters the fragile equilibrium of his present life. That very rupture, however, becomes the catalyst for the unexpected—thrusting Hamura face-to-face with Jin in a sudden, coincidental reunion. All the buried guilt and unresolved longing collide in that moment, forcing him to confront not just the man he wronged, but the ghost of who he used to be.
