The Case Files of Jeweler Richard

Seigi Nakata’s life is one of quiet regularity—until a chance encounter on a city street throws him into the orbit of a man who seems to have stepped out of a fairy tale. When he intervenes to rescue a stunningly handsome foreigner from a group of drunken harassers, Seigi discovers that his good deed has far more intricate consequences than he ever anticipated. The stranger is Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian, a young British jeweler of extraordinary talent and inscrutable origins, whose keen eyes can read the silent stories locked within every facet of a gemstone. Drawn by Richard’s enigmatic allure, Seigi hires him to assess a treasured ring passed down through his own family—a simple transaction that becomes the threshold to a far deeper journey. What begins as a professional arrangement soon deepens into an unlikely partnership, as Seigi finds himself apprenticed to the elegant appraiser and immersed in the clandestine world of high-end jewelry. Together, they navigate a glittering but shadowy realm where each sapphire, diamond, and ruby carries not only monetary value but also the hidden emotions, secrets, and sins of its past and present owners. From haunted heirlooms to cursed stones, the duo unravels the poignant and often heartbreaking messages embedded in the hearts of precious jewels, all while Richard's own mysterious past casts a long, unspoken shadow over their growing bond. In every case, they discover that the true worth of a gem lies not in its carats, but in the human truths it silently guards.
