Me wo Tojite Yume wo Miru

Minami exists in the margins of two worlds—unseen at school, unwelcome at home. A quiet, hollow presence, he has long since abandoned any hope of belonging. To fill the void left by indifference and rejection, he wanders the city streets, offering his body to strangers in fleeting exchanges that grant him a brief, hollow sense of connection. It is a ritual born of numbness, a survival mechanism that numbs the ache of isolation while slowly eroding whatever remains of his sense of self. One cold, rain-soaked night, as the city shimmers under the wash of neon and streetlight, Minami’s routine takes an unexpected turn. He encounters a lone man standing in the downpour—someone whose gaze seems to see past the surface, past the transactional distance Minami has carefully constructed around himself. The rain becomes a strange cocoon, isolating the two of them from the rest of the sleeping city, and what begins as another familiar transaction slowly unravels into something far more dangerous and intimate. In this stranger, Minami glimpses a mirror reflecting his own fractured existence, forcing him to confront the emptiness he has long tried to outrun. That rainy meeting sets in motion a quiet, aching unraveling—a chance at either salvation or deeper ruin, depending on which face the night chooses to show him.
