Kamiyama-san no Kamibukuro no Naka ni wa

Namito Kominato’s high school career begins not with hopeful anticipation, but with confusion and a lingering sense of dread. On the first day of classes, his homeroom teacher assigns him the seat directly behind a most peculiar classmate—a girl who hides her face beneath a crudely fashioned paper bag and whose uniform is perpetually drenched in sweat. This is Samidare Kamiyama, a girl so crippled by social anxiety that she cannot bear to show her face to the world, let alone engage in a normal conversation. As Namito struggles to make sense of his bizarre new environment, he soon crosses paths with two other equally eccentric figures: the student council president, Hinata Arai, whose outward kindness and helpfulness are undercut by an almost fanatical fixation on her own school uniform, and Harusame Amano, a quiet girl who reserves all her social energy for a cardboard standee of her favorite magical girl. Thrown together by circumstance, this trio of beautifully flawed outcasts forms an impromptu "conversation club"—a fragile excuse to practice the very human interactions that elude them all. What unfolds is a tender, awkward, and thoroughly comedic coming-of-age story, where the pursuit of friendship and first love is as messy and pitiful as it is heartwarming.
