Sabu to Ichi Torimono Hikae

Set against the backdrop of Edo-period Japan, the story follows Sabu, a young investigator serving the Tokugawa shogunate. Rather than working alone, he travels alongside Ichi, a formidable blind master swordsman whose extraordinary combat skills prove invaluable in their dangerous line of work. Together, the two form an unlikely but highly effective partnership, journeying across the land to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Their travels frequently bring them into contact with ordinary citizens suffering under the weight of injustice. Whether confronting ruthless bandits or exposing deeply corrupt officials, Sabu and Ichi dedicate themselves to unraveling complex mysteries and restoring order to troubled communities. The duo navigates a treacherous world where authority is often abused, relying on Sabu’s sharp investigative mind and Ichi’s unmatched blade to right the wrongs they encounter. Beyond his demanding duties on the road, Sabu maintains strong personal ties to the law enforcement world. He is engaged to Midori, the daughter of his direct superior—a fellow officer who serves within the ranks of the Tokugawa shogunate's police force. This connection further roots Sabu in the rigid hierarchy of Edo-era justice, even as his adventures with Ichi constantly push him into the unpredictable fringes of society.
