Japan faces an unprecedented crisis as parasitic gods launch a devastating invasion, seizing control of the nation's divine pantheon. With the other deities subjugated by these malevolent entities, only one divine being remains free to mount a resistance: Nakua, the spider god. Standing as the last line of defense against a hostile supernatural takeover, she must find a way to break the parasites' hold over her fellow gods before Japan is entirely consumed. To accomplish this daunting task, Nakua enlists the aid of Kanda Tarou, an otherwise ordinary boy who harbors a unique connection to the divine realm. Within him rests Taroumaru, Nakua’s own spider familiar, making Tarou an unlikely but essential partner in the impending conflict. Bound together by this living link, the spider god and the human boy form a desperate alliance. Their shared mission drives them into direct confrontation with the invading forces as they fight to liberate Japan's captive gods from the suffocating grip of the parasites and restore balance to a nation on the brink of ruin.
