A Girls

Sixteen-year-old Kazao has always found contentment on Mirai Island. Though abandoned at birth and raised in an orphanage-like facility, he enjoys a peaceful life surrounded by friends, most notably Eiko, the girl he deeply loves. Everything shifts after a terrifying nightmare in which he witnesses his own death in a motorcycle accident. The very next day, his long-absent parents are suddenly located, abruptly pulling him away from his idyllic home and forcing him into an unfamiliar urban world he only knows from television broadcasts and school lessons. Left to navigate a sprawling city with nothing but a crude map, Kazao is rescued from aimless wandering by Yuu, a bold and charming girl who soon turns out to be his new classmate. Yet despite her warmth and his attempts to adjust to his parents' unexpected return, an unsettling feeling lingers. He cannot forget Eiko, nor can he ignore the strange details of his new reality—such as why his parents waited sixteen years to reclaim him, or why a piano is the only used piece of furniture in their house.
